Have you ever had to debug some lines of code?

You had to go into the debugging environment, look at what was written in front of you, think about it, change something, try it out, fail, go away, come back, try something else, make a small change, try again, etc.

The spiritual life is the same. The app is loving God and our neighbor. The bugs in the code are our daily failures and defects. The debugging environment is the examination of conscience. Things have to be put in writing, looked at, corrected and tested in the real world and improved on little by little over time. In this way the software of our soul remains constantly up to date.
